There is Nothing New Under the Sun

“All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear it’s fill of hearing. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 8:9

We have a compulsion to create but originality is a myth and a fantasy. As we create for a consumption engine burning mother dry, every craft cheaply mimics what has already come before us and we are sure the forgetful future’s imitation will echo on. Does art and beauty hold value when created with the guilt and the knowledge that it may someday pollute the only divine source of it? Maybe so, but what are humans without the endless thirst for creation? A stain of grief pains a life where man and mother are set to cut each other's throats.
